Okay blog world...Meet Jackson.
Don't let that cute face fool you. This is what he looks like on a nightly basis:
Here, he's attempting to chew the glue off the aquarium.
Always being mischievous, always being evil. He's way too smart for ANYONE'S good. Just the other night he had pushed the stuffing underneath his wheel, so it wouldn't move, climbed to the top of his wheel and was attempting to chew through the wires on top of his aquarium.
He also likes making as much noise as possible (putting stuff in his wheel so it rattles when he runs) hoping that you'll open the top to his aquarium and he can attempt another escape.
Now, let me back up and tell you how Jackson came into my life. It's actually a sad, but sweet, story. I had a hamster before Jackson. His name was Hamilton the Hamster Hamilton...Hammy for short...
He was a panda bear hamster. I bought him Halloween night 2008. I picked him because he didn't try to bite me :P. It was the first pet I had ever had that I picked out and took care of entirely on my own. He was so sweet. Just calm, fat, happy and lazy. Hammy passed away January 30, 2011. I was very upset because he actually took his last breath curled up beside me like a baby.
My boyfriend, being the loving boyfriend that he is, knew how upset I was. And, instead of making fun of me like most boys would and telling me to suck it up, he surprised me with Jackson :). I mean, really, isn't he just the sweetest?
He's also the one that named him. Since Jackson is Confederate Gray and he, was going at the time, to VMI and I work at VMI, he felt it appropriate to name him after Stonewall Jackson. He also claims he picked him because he was a "fighter". I dropped him twice while he was trying to escape while trying to get him in the cage hahaha. He's sooooo mean. But, entertaining. And he was given to me out of love<3. So, I take good care of him. He gets fresh fruit, yogurt drops, treat bars, everything. Even if he is evil...
Hmmm...Maybe Jackson is secretly planning world domination...
